Staying artistically inspired while juggling full-time work, part-time jobs, hobbies, and family, can be daunting. Jim Beckering will speak to his experiences, regarding the balancing act of work, family, and community involvement. While still finding ways to stay fresh and not lose that creative spark. Jim is in the middle of his 24th year teaching art for Boyne City Public Schools. He built a vibrant pottery program and community of potters in Northern Michigan over twenty-five years at Crooked Tree Art Center in Petoskey. He currently teaches skiing and snowboarding at Nubs Nob, works as a waiter at Lucky’s Prime Time, is participating with a raku class at NCMC, is a father to two, a husband, and is super excited to be working to publish his first children's book!
