Caregivers, family and companions are welcome to stay.

1. WHAT is Art Able?

Art Able is a drop-in art program tailored to people with disabilities and for all abilities and ages. Everyone is welcome in our sensory-friendly, relaxing space. Our instructors provide a new creative process-based project each week. All materials are included. Family and friends are encouraged to participate or to just stay and socialize.

2. WHO is this for?

All are welcome, regardless of ability or age. Please note: Children 12 and under, and those who require personal assistance, must be accompanied by an authorized guardian or caregiver.

3. WHERE does Art Able happen?

Crooked Tree Arts Center is located at 322 Sixth Street in Traverse City. Free parking is available on the street and next to our building. Our main entrance is barrier-free. We have a wheelchair accessible restroom and elevator.

4. WHEN is Art Able?

Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. except holidays and special closures. You can find the schedule above, and you can find class details on our Art Classes page.

5. WHY should I go?

Because art is for everyone - and it’s fun! Socialize with your friends, meet others, and create something special. Do you know a disabled friend or family member? Tell them about Art Able and invite them to go with you too!

6. HOW do I participate?

Bring $10 (cash or card) per participant. You only need to pay if you are making your own project. Space is limited, so if you want to reserve a spot, register online for the class you want to attend, or call us.

Arrive at 5:30 p.m. The instructor will guide everyone through the project steps. You may also bring in your own art to share - we love to see your creations! Art Able ends at 6:30 p.m.
