Crooked Tree Arts Center Elects Six New Board Members; Recognizes Volunteers of the Year
Petoskey, Michigan - On September 27, 2022, Crooked Tree Arts Center held its annual member meeting. A new slate of officers was elected, as were six new board members representing diverse professional backgrounds:
Kathleen A. Davis - Davis had a rewarding career with a nonprofit manufacturing organization, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers; and later with The Dow Chemical Company. She and her husband Matt now reside in Bay Harbor, Michigan, where she participates in several organizations within the community, including serving as co-chair of CTAC’s Dart of Art fundraiser.
John Fergus-Jean - Fergus-Jean is an Emeritus Professor of Photography, former museum curator, and master photographic printer. A resident of Harbor Springs, Michigan, he has also served as Director of Education of the Bay View Association, and on the board of the Harbor Springs Historical Society.
Steve Fritz - An architectural illustrator by trade, Fritz has worked on many local and national projects, as well as projects abroad. He is a painter and woodworker, and has a deep love of the outdoors. Fritz lives in Traverse City, Michigan, and has been a volunteer for several years.
DeJuan Jordan - Petoskey local Jordan is an award-winning video production artist, serving clients throughout Michigan and beyond. His work with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra earned Jordan a 2021 national Telly Award. Other clients include CTAC, Blissfest Music Organization, and the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.
Don Molosky - A native of the metro Detroit area, Molosky earned degrees in finance and law. Now living in Harbor Springs, Michigan and specializing in business law, his firm Molosky & Co. has offices in Harbor Springs and Petoskey.
Anne Montagne - Montagne served as Development Director and Director of Admission for a day and boarding school, and has long been involved with a number of local nonprofits. After years of spending summers in the area, Montagne and her husband moved to Petoskey, Michigan from Lake Forest, Illinois.
At the annual meeting, CTAC thanked and recognized its retiring board members, development committee chair James Schroeder and outgoing board chair Joseph Kimmell. Elected to the executive committee were Elaine Smiley, chair; Anne Morningstar, vice chair; Ragnar Avery, treasurer; and Michelle Boyer, secretary.
CTAC also recognized two outstanding contributors as its Volunteers of the Year. Connie Landis is an enthusiastic volunteer at CTAC in Petoskey. She sits on the Visual Arts and Dart for Art committees, and plays an important role on the installation team for new exhibits. She is always the first to sign up when CTAC needs a helping hand.
For years, Steve Fritz has been a stalwart volunteer at CTAC in Traverse City. He helps install exhibitions, serves on the Paint Grand Traverse committee, and has used his talents and skill to build custom display furniture for CTAC. The staff appreciates his humor, commitment, and positive energy.
